Tail on the Scale: #173

Hey, I've pretty much decided this is now my new weight. It agrees with me, and I can still drink the occasional brewski and stay here at 173. Too late to worry about carry the extra lard around Leadville.

I'm cool with it.

Guess that's what happens when you get older, you can't just drop the weight (except maybe from your chest to your belly!) like you used to could.

Hey, I'm off to Leadville today, wish me and belly good luck!!

Love ya!

Good Luck Andy! Remember, except for the altitude and climbs, Leadville is really an easy course :)

Thanks Dave, that's also what Chrissy Ferguson told me. "You know if Leadville were at sea level Arkansas would be a lot tougher."

Yeah, and if my aunt had pedals and handlebars she'd be a bicycle!

Of course you'll be 2 for 2! :-)

As for your aunt - can't say. I've never met her.

You're going to kick Leadville's @$$! (Keep telling yourself that). And when you're done you can enjoy a couple of brews. Just make sure Chase doesn't have one til he crosses the finish line :) Give 'em hell Andy!!!

here's the latest word on weather, from the Rocky ..

August snow in Colorado?
By Alan Gathright, Rocky Mountain News

"Snow in August!

"A cold front arriving Thursday could drop some winter-like frosting above 10,000 feet along and east of the Continental Divide, including parts of Rocky Mountain National Park, early Friday morning and night.

"That will be a significant cool-off," said Bob Koopmeiners of the National Weather Service in Boulder.

"But be on the lookout: The urban corridor could face some severe thunderstorms packing large hail and damaging winds this afternoon and evening.

"Then it will get chilly, wet and windy Friday — with a 60 percent chance of rain and gusts up to 20 mph. "

Boy that sounds like FUN!!! Enjoy that kids...

Good thing Roger isn't pacing you because he may have some Hellgate PTSD to deal with between the snow and ice.

That sounds bad. I'm leaving for Denver on Thursday morning for some business related stuff. I sure hope that I don't suffer any inconvienience from this storm as I jog from my hotel lobby out to the rental car...

Oh, and I wish you both sweet dreams as you nap along the trail at 12,000 feet. Just wake up in time to finish the thing!

Don't worry about the weight...you'll be WAY lighter at 12,000 feet cause yer ferther from the Earth's core (I learned that and Creationism in a Florida community college science class).

Never mind, here comes the dude that sat next to me on the plane, he's offered me a ride, says it won't cost me any money, I wonder why he said it like that?)
