Ok, I couldn't find Mr. Williams bit on Marathon Running, but this little ditty on Gaaahf, explains pretty well how Mountain Ultras are to running track.

It's running a long x 100 way, over mountains, over boulders, in the dark, through mud, around and through bodies of water, AT ALTITUDE.

This was a great picker-upper on a morning where (I kid you not)a mother came up to me in the twins' school parking lot saying she was on her way to tell the Headmaster that one of the twins hit her darling little Poindexter "in the private area" yesterday. I'm thinking, "he kicked him in a study carrel in the library?". I've warned the boys not to play this pervasive game because even the willing participants might have regrets later and (conveniently omitting that their little angel had done the same on numerous occasions) speak to the disciplinary forces-that-be about the "nut-check" game. Tough to defend. Impossible to explain to L'il Angel's mom.
We used to call it a "groucho" ...

Chaser, Robin Williams is deeply flawed, but he's a genius. Possibly the most talented man in America, but it's hard to like him.

I'm also pretty sure that the mamma is a victim in one of my cases. Not positive, but I think so, which doesn't excuse the "game", of course, but may explain trip to the headmaster.
I dunno, people said Andy Kaufman was a genius too ... I never found him remotely interesting or funny

Oh Well said SuperD. A nice crumudgeon. That's the Chaser. Unlike Mr. Andy Rooney. That dude that was interviewing Rooney on the YouTude would have been a jerk ..... if he'd have been interviewing Andy Rooney. Can we get him on the express line to the Night Shift? Maybe three people in Texas could swear they saw him off somebody? That would do it.
