Forgetting is Great: Volume 3

It's a good thing we forget, I've said it before, I don't recall when.

I know some dude bit me (or worse, vice versa) in the playground in elementary school, but I don't remember.

I know I've run a long way and it hurt, but I don't recall how much.

This morning, I got up, showered and taped my foot.... The wrong one. That's got to be a good sign!

Ah, forgetting.... it keeps us sane.

Remember these tapes?

Do I remember 8-Track tapes? I remember Donovan's Greatest Hits in your VW Beetle. Mellow Yellow seven or eight times between Sewanee and, what? Ski-Beach NC? Wasn't that the trip where I knocked that poor lady out with my ski pole?

See, that's how rumors get started! It was Gatlnberg, TN. And yes, she was out, but for a very short time, I swear didn't want to go on the stretcher, but ski-patrol made her!

Oh, yeah, 8tracks, so you're listening to a cool song and then, ka-thunk, it has to shift "tracks" in the middle of the song ... what kinda crap technology was that!

Among others, I had The Vapors, Nu-Clear Days, on 8-track ... "I think I'm turnin' Japanese I really think so ..."

Don't look now, but I think the CD is not long for this world, with Mp3 players and thumb drives, not sure why anyone uses CDs any more ...

That's pretty cool...my parents had 8-tracks (ouch).

Heehee...Prof, you beat me to the punch :)

But I just had a similar problem: a friend from undergrad came down and we were trying to recall a night we went out with one of my brothers. He and my brother had more details about it then me, which apparently is zilch. There's something about a dive bar on the beach and karaoke...but for me, no recollection. But I don't think old age is the problem in this case...

Old age in a bottle?

Handsome dude on the new pic Superdave !

But you now weigh a lot less now because of all that running.

Thanks, Lynne. Sadly, I hurt my back, and was out of commission a couple of weeks. I'm starting up again on Saturday.

Yeah, 8 Tracks were obsolete when they came out, but how about the cassette? They were great in the car, but I used to run with those bad boys, and flipping them during the run wasn't great. And I always got that tangle going at some point, streaming tape behind me, trying to wind it up with my pinky. MP3's... yeah, they're better.
