Two Months to the Day; & What he Say?

Western States, the Crown Jewel of the Grand Slam is two months from today. Wow, I aint Mentally or Physically, or Fiscally ready. Not to fear, I have plans for all three.

Mentally: Quit Whining! I will either do or not do, and I know I won't quit. Gotta get my arms around that concept.

Physically: Am on track to losing my 20, I'll drop and give you 20! Don't stand too close because the weight, it's coming off! It's gonna be dripping like the fat off of a Bubba Burger cooked on your grill on the 4th of July! Also, gonna do some hills. Also, going to see Pete today, take care of the foot and the shin. Tippy-Top shape I'm telling you.

Fiscally: I'm hatching a plan. I'll unveil it later. Now, I gotta go to work.

Be young, Have Fun, Drink Pepsi!

Love,
AndyMan

Mmm, Veggie Burgers, oh, they are just as good (so long as you put a slab of beef on top!)

I'm always a day late on these things, but I noticed "V"'s being given out for Vermont...I don't get one. I'm not asking, I'm saying. I don't get one. I spent the lst 5 days at the Southern Nationals watching NHRA Drag Racing and drinking an unreasonable amount of beer. Total running...Zero. It's been a BAD month since the 50 mile with little training. I'm going to start getting back on track tomorrow. Really...

Andy? You still in for the mountain training? It's only 10 days away. Are you bringing any of your many friends to add to the, none, that I have lined up?

The human kidney weighs about 2 pounds. You could sell one of yours on the black market then you could simultaniously lose weight and gain money.

You're kidney me. Really?

I'm with you Roger. Since Umstead, I've logged a whopping 4 miles of running. Until today. I got into my runners here in Indy and tried out my new improved foot. And what do ya know? Its better!

But I have less than three months to get ready for the Vermont 100K. As I told my parents today...at least its either walking uphill or flying downhill...apparently there isn't much flat running there. And if that isn't the case, don't tell me quite yet...

Uh, for those of you who haven't gotten this month's Ultrarunning magazine ... some interesting stuff written in there by someone who apparently has never met Andyman .... But here it is,

"Hooked on Ultra, by Adam Gifford (dude who has never met Andy) ...

Andy Mathews is a busy man. Not only is he training for the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning, but he is also a high school history teacher, head track coach, award-winning cross country coach and a dedicated dad. Despite this schedule, Andy finds time to direct Florida's most prestigious ultramathon, the Croom Trail 50 mile and 50km Fool's Run.

"The prfessionalism and quality of the Croom made it seem like Mathews was able to dedicate all of his waking hours to its coordination. The truth is that he and a handful of extremely dedicated volunteers were able to pull of a near perfect race consisting of three different distances and 250 runners,.

"Andy's dedication to this sport is obvious," said 50 km finisher Tracy Cook. "He maintained an ear to ear grin despite the fact that he had been awake for over 48 hours." Mathews, the consummate joker, said that it was good sleep deprivation training for the Slam."

..... Yeah, "ear-to-ear grin" or "shit-eating-grin," ... same thing.

Boy, St. Andy, can you bless my crippled legs so that I might walk again? :-)

Andy the Holy Man? Well, he is a son of a nun. But even a faith healer wouldn't be able to fix those mangled peds of yours, Chase.

Chaser,
Does anyone really know anyone? I think, this Adam character, is probably very insightful, he probably had some good professors if we were to tracy back his education.

And I am a busy man!
